Back again with another Tea Talk! I believe in the last one I was explaining what our plan was and in this one I can excitedly say that the plan went through and we are now living it! Days have been long and nights have been short but we are settling into our new little space in the upstairs guest area of my husband's parents house and are about to welcome our 4th renter into our home which is now an airbnb. If you are wondering why we are doing this I want to explain a little bit about that here.
My husband has always been extremely financially smart and driven. He's been talking about having a home paid off ever since we got married and moved into our first home which is a very big and somewhat daunting goal when you're only 23 and 24 and still pretty newly married. He has awesome financial goals but for a while they were more like dreams. We weren't taking action on any of them. Around a year ago he brought up the idea of moving in with one of our families for around 8 months to save up like crazy and rent out our home. The goal here would be to either pay off a huge chunk of mortgage on our home OR pay a huge chunk towards the next house that we want to start building in a couple months, the long term goal would still be to eventually have a home paid off completely. His dream is to be a custom home builder and the plan with that is for his first home to be the one we move into when this 8 months is up. We aren't dependent or stuck on any one plan though. If the house takes longer to build or if for some reason we have to wait a little longer to build, we are ok with that. The main goal here is to save as much as we can in 8 months and put it towards paying off a house. After Chandler builds his first home with his license, from there we will probably continue to build, rent houses out, and move quite a lot.
So here we are! Renting out our first home, living in his parents house for 8 months, and seeing what God has in store. His hand has been in this plan since the day my husband first brought it up. He laid it on Chandler's heart and also filled him with A LOT of patience towards his wife. Ha! I used to get so mad at him when he would mention this plan to me. It's amazing to see that over that year God softened my heart and opened my eyes to what my husband was trying to do for us, our future, and our future family. I went from an "absolutely not." to an "I think it's dumb but fine let's talk about it." to a "yes, I feel peace about it lets do it." God had been moving behind the scenes and lining things up for us throughout that entire year and it all showed up in so many ways in the past couple of months. We have been blown away by his faithfulness and just the overall peace we have had through this whole thing.
Things have been exhausting but also a lot of fun. We both love adventure and this is just one big long exciting adventure that could take us in many different directions. Through this whole thing we have waited on God and let Him be the deciding factor in everything. This process hasn't been easy by any means but theres a part of us that feels like it should've been much harder. We are so thankful.
Through this process I have also been turning to my emotional support oils more frequently than EVER and I know that has had a huge impact on how I have processed and handled this move. Two years ago I would've openly told you that I was an extremely anxious person, always worrying, always anxious. It was a terrible way to live and thanks to the Lord moving in my life through my diet and these oils, I am no longer living life that way. An oil called Clary Calm from dōTERRA completely changed the game for me and changed the emotional and hormonal side of my life drastically. I have been turning to that oil ever since and especially in this season of life. I have also been using my Balance oil (grounding blend) and Elevation oil (joyful blend) every single day and have noticed a HUGE difference in how I handle pressure and change now compared to how I used to handle it. I want to write a post dedicated to my journey with essential oils so I'll save the rest for there but if you are in a season where you need extra emotional support, you're having terrible periods, or you just need relief from your everyday anxieties, please reach out so I can tell you more about these oils. I would love to help you find exactly what your body is needing.
That's about all I have to say for now! I am so excited to continue sharing this journey with you all! We are currently in the process of getting counter tops for our little kitchen in our new space but once we do you can expect more recipe posts from me!!
Thanks for reading!
