Copaiba oil may be something you've heard of and may be something you're just now hearing of! This little oil is newer to us in the U.S. but has actually been around for centuries in South America. This oil comes from Copaiba trees that are indigenous to South America and contains Beta-Caryophyllene which is actually considered a cannabinoid.
I wanted to write this post to simplify what Copaiba is, why we all need to have a bottle (or two) on hand, and what makes it different from CBD oil. I'm going to do my best to keep this super short and simple, here we go!
So endocannabinoids are naturally produced by our bodies. We all have endocannabinoid systems and these systems house our CB1 and CB2 receptors. A cannabinoid is any ligand or molecule that reacts with either our CB1 receptor or our CB2 receptor. Our CB1 receptor is the one that is activated during recreational cannabis use and creates that psychoactive "high" that is associated with cannabinoid THC. Beta-Caryophyllene (BCP) is the cannabinoid that reacts with ONLY our CB2 receptor and has absolute no psychoactive effects or characteristics. BCP has powerful anti-inflammatory properties, is an antioxidant and incredible for the immune system, calms the nervous system, positively affects the mood, can help with pain, and the list just goes on and on. Success stories of continued use of this essential oil include support for migraines, anxiety, sleeplessness, powerful pain relief, wound and scar healing, etc. Studies have shown that Copaiba has been considered a powerful oil to improve cellular health dramatically for decades and should be used when cellular health has been compromised to help support the bodies natural healing process.
Due to compliance rules I am not able to go into the testimonies or studies in depth on this post but please click on the links below to read about experiences and studies done with Copaiba oil.
So what makes this oil different from CBD? Well first off, the two oils come from completely different plants altogether meaning that the cannabinoid BCP found in Copaiba has absolutely no psychoactive affects and will never show up on a drug test BUT both CBD oil and Copabia oil effect the same CB2 receptors, the only difference is that CBD indirectly interacts with the receptor while Copaiba directly interacts with the receptor. So we are working with VERY similar oils here that have many of the same healing and calming properties. One huge difference between the two is the price. A good quality CBD oil can be hundreds of dollars while doTERRA's Copaiba is $47 retail and $35 wholesale. How incredible is it that for under $50 we have access to such an amazing and healing essential oil.
I take this oil daily for helping soothe anxiety and stress, support healthy cells, clear skin, and for relieving occasional muscle tension and pain. I love oils that work so well in supporting my body naturally that I can tell if I forget to take them. If you would like to know more, please contact me! I would love to help you get set up with your first kit and your free oils!
Thank you so much for reading!
