Quick little back story.. My now husband Chandler, and I had been together for almost 8 years when we got married. Tomorrow marks 1 month! (woo-hoo!)
We knew at a very young age that we wanted to get married. We were each other's best friend, first real relationship, first love, first kiss. Fast forward 7 years and I'm engaged to the most amazing man in the world and we are diving into wedding planning & marriage planning!
My goal with my business and this blog is to give you all the wedding planning tips and tricks I learned along the way, fun details and experiences but to also encourage you to plan for not only your wedding day, but for your marriage! The truth is your wedding day is one day that goes by oh so fast but marriage is meant to last a lifetime and it needs just as much attention if not more, than your wedding day. In a season that can be so overwhelming, I encourage you to take a few deep breaths with your fiancé and remember why you're getting married. Talk about what you want your marriage to look like, discuss you faith, how you want to run your household together, how you hope to handle arguments when they arise, what kind of parents you want to be, etc. Chandler & I went through pre-marital counseling with our pastor and it was such a positive experience for us. We had grown up together and had known been together for 7 years at the time so there wasn't anything we hadn't talked about, but we definitely learned more about each other and had some important conversations opened up by going to pre-marital counseling. I would highly suggest it to everyone! Even if you feel like you know your soon to be spouse inside and out, there is always more to discover and talk about! You might learn something new about yourself!
I am editing this post with some more photos on 5.28 and I still get so excited when I see these captured moments and can still feel the butterflies, the love we felt on that day between each other and from everyone around us, the romantic lighting at our reception, the sweet dances that were shared, leaving for our amazing honeymoon to Costa Rica the next morning... It feels like it was yesterday even though it's already been almost 8 months. Time goes by so fast!
I hope you enjoy these sweet memories, fun details, and beautiful florals.
