So I promise this will not be a heavy post but I do just want to touch a little bit on my background with anxiety. I know everyones story when it comes to anxiety is very different while she causes are major and some are unknown. I hope that in sharing my story, you’re able to relate or feel less alone. So I suffered from random anxiety and panic attacks towards the end of middle school/beginning of high school. It was super unexpected and unexplained. So when you first think about sitting down with a bunch of magazines to find things that are relevant to you and your goals, cutting them out, and gluing them to a poster board, it might seem a little silly and maybe even a bit childish. I kindof thought so too but I just kept hearing “put your goals down on paper”, “get them infront of you where you can see them everyday”, “what you focus on is what you will manifest.”, etc. I listen to a ton of podcasts, read books, and watch videos on goal setting, habit forming, and all things motivational and this is one thing that I hear over and over again. We need to be putting our goals and aspirations for our lives where we can see them daily and we need to be writing them out daily as well. Our minds are SO powerful and what we are constantly looking at, writing out, and feeding our brain daily MATTERS and will start to show up in all areas of our life.Read More
I'm starting a series on essential oils and emotions and I'm so excited about it! In this post I'm going to touch on essential oils and emotions when inhaled aromatically.
One of my favorite essential oils for emotions is dōTERRA's Elevation blend. This is their joyful blend and it's full of beautiful citrus oils combined with powerful calming oils. It's uplifting and relaxing at the same time. As crazy as it might sound, when I was going through a terrible patch of anxiety I had completely forgotten about this oil and when I finally found it again, opened the bottle, and smelled the oil, it brought me to tears immediately with the relief it brought my mind. This oil reacted directly with the emotional parts of my brain and brought me an unexplainable amount of uplift, peace, relaxation, and joy in a super stressful time. Copaiba oil may be something you've heard of and may be something you're just now hearing of! This little oil is newer to us in the U.S. but has actually been around for centuries in South America. This oil comes from Copaiba trees that are indigenous to South America and contains Beta-Caryophyllene which is actually considered a cannabinoid.
